Redesigning the stroller experience for modern families

The best product innovations often come from someone who’s simply had enough of how things are done.

That’s exactly how it started for me - with strollers. It took six years, four strollers, two kids, and one very patient wife to realize something: strollers suck. They’re expensive, bulky, not particularly beautiful, and surprisingly basic. Around the time I started thinking seriously about this, we had autonomous cars on the streets and robots vacuuming our apartment in Vancouver. Meanwhile, I was still banging my head against the trunk of our car trying to fold up our premium stroller.

Over eight years, we went through four strollers: a full-size stroller, a travel stroller, a jogging stroller, and finally a wagon once the kids rebelled against being strapped into something that felt too “baby.” Now, all four are sitting in our garage gathering dust. Three could probably be reused, while the fourth got wrecked during our many trips back to Europe. Not one of them was a true home run. Every single one had compromises - on convenience, innovation, or style.

So there I was: pushing my son in one of our “good enough” strollers with one hand, jotting notes on my iPhone with the other. What if it could convert into a jogger when I feel like running? What if the storage basket could detach, so I don’t have to empty it every time I reach the car or front door? What if there were a spot for my phone to play music - not too close to my son, but also not dangling off the canopy? And the list kept growing. From that frustration, strollee was born.

From frustration to innovation

Like many parents, my wife and I have been searching for the perfect stroller - one that was easy to use, durable, and adaptable to different stages of life. But we kept running into the same problems: strollers that were either too heavy or too flimsy, models that didn’t work well for more than one child, and designs that felt outdated and uninspired. And we weren't alone. We surveyed hundreds of parents and found that nearly half weren’t fully satisfied with their strollers, and more than 75% owned two or more to cover different needs. That didn’t make sense to me. 

So we asked: What if one stroller could do it all?
